Page Manager Overview Page Manager The Page Manager is where you can view your website’s site structure as it lists all your pages in a navigation tree. The small grey arrow beside a page name is used to expand that section and see the other pages within it. Topics covered in this article: Move Content Properties Add Rename Delete Across the top of the Page Manager view you will see the options of Move, Content, Properties, Add, Rename and Delete. The Home page cannot be moved, renamed, or deleted. More on these options below. Move By clicking the Move icon in the row of a page you wish to move it will highlight the row blue and while holding the left mouse button you can now drag the page to place it in the navigation tree where you need it. Look for the thin grey line below the page you wish to position the page you are moving and release the left mouse button. In the example below the Reading page is being dragged and moved between the Travel and Food page as the thin grey line shows where it will be placed when the mouse button is released. Note: this is move is done live and takes effect immediately. A refresh of the active page on your website will show the change made. Content Pressing the icon for Content will take you to the Content window for that website page and you will see near the top left Draft, Live and Historical Tabs. On the top right are the Back to List, Actions and Functions buttons. A panel of Drag and Drop Widgets is also in the top right of the Content window. Note: Do not the browsers back arrow to return to the Page Manager view as this take you to a different page within Advantage. Instead use the Back to List whenever you see it near the top right of the page. Properties Pressing the Properties icon takes you to the Properties window for that website page and you are presented with the Properties, Search Categorizations, Open Graph and Custom Tabs near the top left of the window. On the top right you will see the Back to List and Update buttons. Add Adding pages to your website's structure is easily done with the Add button. Once clicked the Add Page dialogue box opens where you will name the page and can choose to duplicate the same formatting and structure of a current page by selecting one from the Page to copy from drop-down menu, or click Blank. Click save and the page will added to the navigation tree. You can then go into Content to make any further changes to the new page you have added. Rename By clicking on the Rename icon a small window pops up and you simply type the new name of the page and click OK. Delete To delete a page from your website simply click on the Delete icon, a small window will ask you to confirm that you wish to delete that page. Editing Page Settings Editing Page Settings Here you will be able to edit Page Settings such as Page Title, Description, Keywords. Control Menu Settings and advance functions like Search Categorization, Open Graph and any custom features. Check / Uncheck Page Active Active or Deactivate your page. Active means users can view the webpage. 4. Click on Page Link Here you can create 'Friendly URLs' - separate words with dashes (-) instead of spaces or symbols. Make sure to remove apostrophes and any special characters. 5. View Full Path Here you can view what the URL Path will look like after you name your page link. 6. Check Visible in Menu Determine whether you want this page to be visible in menu. 7. Check Visible in Sitemap Determine whether you want this page to be visible in Sitemap. 8. Check Canonical URL Determine whether you want this page to be a canonical URL. A canonical URL is the preferred URL for a specific piece of content when multiple URLs exist that point to the same content or similar variations of it. With this feature, when checked off, you are telling search crawlers like Google for example that this page, this content is designated as the authoritative or primary URL for search engines to index and rank. 9. Check Redirect If this page is a redirect. Check it off and new options will appear to configure the redirect. 10. Select Page Select the page you want this redirect to go to. 11. Click on Select A modal will open allowing you to access the Page Manager, navigation tree. 12. Select Redirect Type Select Permanent or Temporary Redirect. Permanent Redirect (301): Status Code: 301 Moved Permanently Meaning: Indicates that the requested URL has permanently moved to a new location. Use Case: Employed when a website permanently redirects one URL to another, typically because the original URL no longer exists or has been replaced by a new one. SEO Impact: Search engines treat 301 redirects as a signal to pass the ranking authority (link juice) from the old URL to the new one. It's considered a best practice for preserving search engine rankings when changing URLs. Temporary Redirect (302): Status Code: 302 Found (or 307 Temporary Redirect in HTTP/1.1) Meaning: Indicates that the requested URL has temporarily moved to a different location. Use Case: Used when a URL is temporarily redirected to another URL. It implies that the original URL may be restored in the future. SEO Impact: Search engines may not pass link equity from the original URL to the temporary one. If the redirect is expected to be permanent, using a 301 redirect is recommended for SEO purposes. 13. Uncheck Force SSL If you don't have SSL on all parts of your website, you can determine whether you want to force SSL for this specific page. 17. Click on Menu Options 18. Uncheck Hide on Small Screen Option to Hide page menu item on a Small Screen 19. Uncheck Add Menu Separator Option to add Menu Separator to menu. 20. Uncheck Disable Navigation Option to disable navigation when you have a mega menu. 21. Select Menu Arrow Direction Here you can select how you want the menu arrow direction to be pointing. 22. Select New Window from Open Location You can select whether you want the menu item to open in the same window/tab or new window/tab. 23. Check Rich Nav Here you have the option to include a rich menu navigation using the WYSIWYG editor or by adding HTML. A content window will appear for you to enter this content. 24. Click on Search Categorization 25. Check / Uncheck Index when a query string exists This option refers to a setting or directive for your robots.txt file. This setting determines whether search engines should index web pages that have query strings appended to their URLs. 26. Check Index when NO query string exists This setting determines whether search engines should index web pages that have NO query strings appended to their URLs. 27. Check/ Uncheck Index if it is using Advantage re-write Here your letting search engines know that you want this page indexed even if it has an Advantage re-write. 28. Check / Uncheck Index if it is NOT using Advantage re-write Here your letting search engines know that you do NOT want this page indexed even if it has an Advantage re-write. 29. Check / Uncheck Do not follow Links on the page This option is a directive that instructs search engine bots not to follow or crawl the links present on a particular web page. 30. Click on Enterprise Features These are more advance Enterprise Features: Checking "Use advanced regex matching" This will employ advanced or regular expression (regex) patterns for more sophisticated text matching and manipulation tasks. Scrape Method Here you can select the scrape method that is used to extract data from this page. 31. Click on Categories/Groups Here you can control how you want to classify this content page. 32. Click on Content Type Select the category you wish to classify this page. You can create as many categories as you want in Domain Management > Configuration Settings. 33. Click on Location Once you add your different locations you can classify content for different types of users in different locations. 34. Click on Security Advantage allows you to create gated content, Once your security settings are created in the advance Configuration Settings, you can determine whether this page requires a user to be logged in to view. 35. Click on Open Graph Here you can set your Open Graph settings for this page. Open Graph settings in Advantage refer to the configuration options related to Open Graph protocol tags. The Open Graph protocol enables web pages to become rich objects in a social graph, allowing them to be shared effectively across social media platforms. Here's what Open Graph settings can be adjusted. Title: This is the title of the page as it should appear when shared on social media platforms. It's often separate from the HTML title tag for SEO purposes. Image: An image associated with the page. This image should be visually appealing and relevant to the content of the page. Type: Open Graph supports various types of content such as website, article, video, etc. This setting allows specifying the type of content the page represents. URL: The canonical URL of the page, which is used as the basis for sharing. It's important for ensuring that shared links point to the correct location. The purpose of configuring Open Graph settings is to ensure that when content from the website is shared on social media platforms, it appears correctly formatted and with the desired title, image, and other relevant information. This can help improve the visibility and engagement of the shared content across social networks. 36. Activate Open Graph for this page Click on the checkmark to activate Open Graph 37.
